Xiaomi has been quite busy right from the start of this year, apart from the new devices that it has up its sleeves ready to be unveiled at the MWC 2020 event, software updates is also a department where Xiaomi is quite equipped with.
In the recent past, a lot of Xiaomi devices have been either updated to the Android 10 operating system or have been served with the latest version of Xiaomi’s custom skin, MIUI 11. There are still a bunch of phones in their portfolio, that are awaiting the updates.
But, in a recent development, Redmi 8A running Android 10 was spotted on Geekbench. Notably, we have reported that the Redmi 8A was served with the MIUI 11 stable update way back in November 2019.
However, the previous MIUI 11 update was based on Android 9 Pie and the users of the Redmi 8A were waiting for the Android 10 update pretty eagerly.
And now it seems that the Android 10 update might soon be on the cards according to the leaked Geekbench listing. Getting into the details, the listed Redmi 8A phone is the 4GB RAM variant of the device.
Keep in mind that the 4GB variant of Redmi 8A was surprisingly not launched in India. Meaning that the 4 GB + 64 GB Chinese variant of the Redmi 8A spotted on the Geekbench listing will soon get the Android 10 update.
Moreover, the update might bring the MIUI 11 update with a new security patchset or some other system enhancements. Note that, we cannot confirm anything until we have some official or concrete information in this regard.
