This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (from 2019) follows:

Incoming are reports related to two separate YouTube-related issues. The first one is specific to the YouTube Android app wherein the Library tab is not working, rather throwing an error. And the second one is on the YouTube desktop client where the content displayed on the sidebar is nowhere to be found. Let’s take both the issues one by one.

Library tab not working

YouTube’s Android app users are reportedly not able to access their library, for it’s throwing a loading error, as can be seen in some of the following tweets.

Similar reports can be seen on the company’s official help forum (1,2,3,4,5,6), Reddit (1,2) as well as the reviews section of the app’s Play Store listings page.

Regarding the aforementioned issue, one of the users even got to hear from Team YouTube on Twitter, and here’s what they said:

But that’s unlike an official acknowledgement.

Sidebar menu gone

Moving on, another major issue that has come to our sight is the sidebar (or guidebar as some users call it on the left side upper corner of the page) gone missing from YouTube’s desktop client. While some say the content is missing, others say it displays other stuff (as can be seen in the following user shared screenshot).

Reports can be seen proliferating on YouTube Help Forum (1,2,3,4,5), and the online discussion platform Reddit (1,2) as well.

We hope Google looks into both the matters soon and does the needful to fix things up, just like they are doing for fixing up the YouTube TV app glitch on Apple TVs. Rest assured, we’ll let you know as and when any further development takes place on the issues in question.
