Needless to say, the device caused quite the stir and remains rather popular even in 2020. It launched with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box but has since been updated to Android 10.

The Pocophone F1 has had quite the journey to MIUI 12. Delays, recalled updates, countless bugs, name it! Pocophone F1 users have been subjected to it all. We have a detailed post that covers all these twists and turns.

Luckily, we’ve recently seen the release of MIUI V12.0.2 for the Pocophone F1, a re-release over the initial rollout that proved too buggy.

But even with the new build, the rollout has been slow and countless users (1,2,3,4) have reported not receiving the MIUI 12 update on their Pocophone F1.

There were talks that the re-released build of MIUI 12 might have been buggy as well, hence the delay in rolling out the Fastboot ROM. More on that here.

Well, it seems as though the new build V12.0.2 is satisfactory enough as Xiaomi has today, released the Fastboot and Recovery builds of MIUI 12 for the Pocophone F1/Poco F1 to the public.

Along with that, it appears as though users who hadn’t received the update are finally getting the OTA notifications (1,2,3,4).

It is also worth noting that as the Pocophone F1 continues to age, the update frequency is expected to decrease. What this means for the bugs reported remains to be seen.
