This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on September 05) follows:
Oppo, along with a few other Android vendors, was the first to roll out the beta version of Android 11 for its flagships — the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro — in China. The update was released back in June alongside ColorOS 7.2
Since then, Oppo has also kick-started the Android 11 beta recruitment for the Ace2 and Ace2 EVA Limited Edition in China. Recently, the company announced that it will kick-start the beta recruitment for the Global variants of the Find X2, Find X2 Pro, Reno3, and Reno3 Pro.
This ties in with our previous report about Oppo’s CEO confirming that the company will be releasing Android 11 for the Global units of the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. But it appears that Oppo isn’t stopping just there.
With a new announcement, the China-based OEM has kick-started the Android 11 closed beta recruitment for the Oppo Reno4 Pro — PDNM00 and PDNT00 models — in China only. Further, selected users may also get to test ColorOS 8 alongside Android 11.
According to the official announcement post, the recruitment beings today, i.e., September 5, and will go on until September 8, noon. Therefore, interested users will have to register for the closed beta soon to get a chance to experience Android 11 before others.
The company will be announcing the list of selected beta testers in batches and the first list is expected to be announced on September 8. After this, it will begin rolling out the beta version to selected users in batches as well.
At present, Oppo has not stated when it will begin recruiting beta testers for Android 11 for the Global variants of the Oppo Reno4 Pro. So users outside of China may have to wait a while before they get a chance to participate in the beta if Oppo even considers it.
That said, keep an eye out on our dedicated tracker to know when the Android 11 update arrives on your Oppo device. Also, head here to know whether your phone is eligible for Android 11.
