With so much hype created around the new POCO smartphones, finally, we have the POCO X2 which was launched a few days ago in India and it packs a punch in the specs department (not to forget the 120Hz display).

This alls started with the official Tweet from Manu Kumar Jain stating that POCO is now an independent brand and will not be a part of Xiaomi.

Following which a lot of leaked images, hands-on, and other specification leaks made their way on the internet surrounding the next POCO phone.

And now when the POCO X2 is finally here, people are quite curious to know about what’s in future for the Poco F1, which was launched back in August 2018?

As per reports, the POCO X2 will replace the Poco F1 in India as the latest and only offering (till a new phone from Poco is released) for India. However, users who would still like to buy the phone can buy the Poco F1 until the stocks last.

Going by the latest information, Poco has stopped manufacturing the Poco F1 smartphone which was revealed by Poco General Manager C Manmohan in a conversation with India Today Tech.

The GM of Poco hinted that the discontinuation of the Poco f1 is due to the fact that Qualcomm has decided to stop manufacturing the Snapdragon 845 chipset which powers the Poco F1. Manmohan further stated that Poco will continue to get security updates regularly, meaning that the device support isn’t done with.

Poco F1 got MIUI 11 based on Android 10 recently

As you may be well aware, Poco F1 was recently served with the Android 10 based MIUI 11. However, the Android 11 update seems highly unlikely as the Pocophone F1 has already received two major Android OS updates in the form of Android 9 Pie and 10.

Besides, back in 2018, Ex-PM of Pocophone Global, Jai Mani responded to a tweet and said that Poco F1 will receive at least Android Pie and Android Q (Android 10).

But nothing can be confirmed until something concrete comes up as some time back, Poco fans almost gave up the hopes of having a new Poco phone, so who knows Android 11 or Android R might be another surprise element for the device users (though there’s a very low possibility).

We will leave you with that thought in your minds. In the meantime, you can check out our dedicated Poco section to read more similar stories surrounding Poco phones.
