The first glimpse of Android 11 should be available soon, as Google engineers are quite busy with the preparation. However, OEMs like LG are still struggling with the Android 10 rollout process. Just a month ago, LG G7 One received stable Android 10 update.
Well, LG G7 One is part of the Android One initiative, so the arrival of the update was part of the routine. On the other hand, only a handful of LG phones running skinned version of Android (aka LG UX) received the taste of Android 10 so far.
At the time of writing this article, both LG V50 ThinQ and LG G8 ThinQ secured the update in different regions of the world. The OTA initially went live in South Korea, and later US carriers like Sprint and Verizon also participated in the rollout process.
Around a week ago, LG Italy officially annouced a timeline of Android 10 OTA delivery for a bunch of phones. For example, LG G7 ThinQ, LG G8S ThinQ and LG V40 ThinQ are scheduled to get the update during the third quarter of this year.
However, the roadmap didn’t highlight anything update legacy flagships like LG V35 ThinQ. No need to worry though, as LG UX 9.0 infused Android 10 update should be available on the phone in Q2 of 2020. The information has its root in a new timeline shared by LG Korea.
-Q4 2019: G8 ThinQ (Completed)
-Q1 2020: V50 ThinQ (Completed)
-Q2 2020: V50S ThinQ, V40 ThinQ, V35 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ
-Q3 2020: X6 (2019), X2 (2019), Q70
Some of them are part of the previous list, but LG V35 ThinQ & LG V50S ThinQ are certainly the most notable additions in the current one.
Entry-level and mid-rangers like LG X6 (Korean edition of LG Q60), LG X2 2019 (Korean edition of LG K30 2019) and LG Q70 have to wait till the third quarter of 2020.
It is worth mentioning that this timeline is applicable in South Korea. Global, especially US carrier models should not have any correlation with the aforementioned Android 10 update roadmap.
