When it comes to Android One, the mainstream phone makers decided to play safe and rebrand their existing phones. Xiaomi’s Mi A1 is nothing but a modified version of Mi 5X, while Motorola One Power is originally sold in China under the ‘P30 Note’ moniker.

LG, however, took a different approach. The Korean OEM introduced the LG G7 One in 2018, which is their sole entry in the Android One program so far. Don’t get confused with the naming convention, as the phone is not at all related with the regular LG G7 ThinQ.

The company decided to use one year old Snapdragon 835 SoC inside the phone, which is also sold as LG Q9 One in South Korea. Thanks to the Android One branding, it became the first LG phone to grab the stable Pie update back in November 2018. Well, the legacy continues.

After multiple speculations, the stable Android 10 update for LG G7 One is finally here! The arrival is quite early, as a bunch of Canadain carriers listed the tentative date as December 18.

The size of the incremental OTA is less than 1 GB, which is surprisingly small for a major version update. The included security patch level is still November, exactly like the case of Nokia 9 PureView.

The internal software version number of this stable Android 10 build is Q910UM30d, whereas the last Pie-based November build was tagged was Q910UM20v. According to the changelog, the OEM has also improved the functionality of the stock camera app.

A quick look at the LG OpenSource Code Distribution portal reveals that the corresponding kernel source code has also been uploaded. However, the build number of the archive is slightly different (30a instead 30d).
