A lot has been going on around whether Xiaomi will be releasing Pocophone F1‘s successor Poco F2 on not. Raising the bars of hopes, last month only, Poco Global Head Alvin Tse gave a hint about something coming in 2020. This of course got the fans excited speculating if Poco F2 was coming.

However, the tweet was deleted in no time.

But now coming to light are screengrabs shared by someone on Twitter that show a trademark application for none other than the POCO F2. The tweet says “#Xiaomi files trademark application for POCO F2 So the POCO series exists and POCO F2 is coming soon.”

Well, the images show an application (4280005) filed for the trademark registration for POCO F2. And before you think why China, well, that’s because it’s Xiaomi, and they like filing for a trademark in their home country.

Following are the images (click/tap to enlarge) that have come across:

Leakster _the_tech_guy has spotted the listing, which does bring some questions with it. For your information, Xiaomi never sold the first generation Poco in China. Matter of fact, there is no MIUI China build for the phone either.

Moreover, the term ‘Pocophone F1’ is used in Russia and various other European and Asian markets. ‘Poco F1’ is India exclusive so far. Is Xiaomi planning to declutter things up?

Interestingly, eagle-eyed _the_tech_guy has also discovered a similar trademark filing related to the first-gen Pocophone. Guess the application procedure is nothing but a norm and it has nothing to do with the target market of the phone.

So is Poco F2 really coming? Well, if the images that have come out are legit, it creates a strong base for the assumption that yes, the Poco series still exists. And Poco F2 will be the new member of the family. What do you think? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
