New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 13, 2019) follows:

When you talk about budget smartphones, it’s literally a crime not to include Xiaomi in the discussion. The Beijing-based firm pulled up a chair for themselves in the crowded market with their value for money offerings (most of them, under Redmi branding).

In August 2018, they astonished everybody with a midrange flagship under another sub-brand. Dubbed as Pocophone F1 (Poco F1 in India), it forayed into the territory, where OnePlus triumphantly resided once. Rest is history!

You know where OnePlus stands now, with their latest phone (7T Pro) carrying a $750+ price tag. Apparently, they had left a gap in the mid-range arena while climbing up the pricing ladder. That’s exactly what made Poco F1 a huge hit among gadget enthusiasts.

Yeah, Xiaomi Pocophone F1 set a new standard in the industry more like OnePlus One did once, even so, failed to receive an upgrade. To tell the truth, it’s odd to see a manufacturer taking about 500 days to release the successor in a world where descendants born at once (cough *OnePlus* cough!).

Nonetheless, we weren’t short of rumours, speculations, purported stories, and mere fallacies. Even recently, we noticed Poco F2 cases on Spigen website. However, they deleted that specific page later on. And earlier, we had shared our insights deduced from various clues on the web.

Xiaomi literally startled Poco F2 expectants by introducing Redmi K20 series. When those devices got certified, the entire community thought they would bring smile on seekers of an F1 successor. Gosh, they didn’t! And, waves seemed to setted down as K20 Pro had almost done the foeticide.

Hold on! We have got something to keep your hopes up. After all these months, the company head has finally broken his silence on the next Poco product. We are not sure if it’s a smartphone that will succeed Pocophone F1. Still, it’s certain that they are going to release a gadget in 2020.

Now, that’s something worth believing. We know what you are going to ask next. But no, they didn’t announce the launch date or any other details! So, let’s have a discussion about the possible specifications on Poco F2 in the comment section below.

Update

Time to bang your head on the wall! Alvin Tse, Poco Global Head, has just deleted the tweet that threw light on the next product from the company. So, the question remains. Is what he said true? Let’s be patient!
