If you are the owner of the Sony Xperia 1 smartphone then. this piece of news might excite you (as there is nothing exciting when it comes to Sony smartphones, as of now!). The October 2019 update is being pushed for the device in specific regions.

Notably, the update is currently available for users in Russia, Saint Lucia, SEA, and Ukraine. However, it is expected to arrive in other regions as well.

To recall, the Xperia 1 was launched in February 2019 and it is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. The flagship offers a 3,300 mAh battery and a triple 12 MP+12 MP+12 MP camera setup at the rear.

The device comes with 128 GB of onboard storage and runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box. But, there are still no signs of Android 10 update for Xperia 1 (apart from the Sony Open Devices program).

Matter of fact, according to a list revealed by NTT Docomo regarding the Android 10 roadmap for Xperia phones, it is expected that the update will be rolled out for Xperia 1 in the near future.

Moreover, the device also received the September update that also brought along some camera fixes and improvement back in the month of September.

Now coming back to the update, it carries the version number 55.0.A.10.26. The update weighs in about 76 MB in size and it seems to be just an incremental update in nature and bumps the security patch level to October 2019.

This has been reportedly confirmed by the users of Xperia 1 on Reddit. Besides, looking at the discussion, it comes out that the October 2019 security patch is going to be the last Android 9 Pie update.

Hopefully, the long-anticipated Android 10 update will arrive for the Xperia 1 starting from November. We will have to wait and see any further developments in this regard.
