Users of Redmi Y2 – Redmi Y series’ 2018 device – were disheartened when the news about cancellation of Android Pie spread like a wild fire last month. As the matter caught heat, Xiaomi jumped in clearing the air on the issue stating “Redmi Y2 will get Android 9 Pie.”

Redmi Y2 users finally took a breath of relief after the official announcement confirmed that they will get to taste the long awaited Pie. While in the announcement, Redmi team committed Pie’s arrival around ‘June,’ looks like there could be some change in plan.

Going by a recent statement from a Device team’s member at Mi Community, there’s no confirmed date about when exactly is Pie going to land on Redmi Y2. Here’s what the Devce team’s member said while reverting back to a user who repeated that Pie will be coming around June for sure.

There is no official date is available yet, please wait it will be available soon.

So it won’t be wrong saying right now there’s no ETA for when exactly is Pie going to make it to Redmi Y2 units. Though we hope, it happens at the soonest. Moving on, just last week, Redmi Y2 received MIUI 10.3.1.0 update that brought along the April security patch.

The update also fixed issues like ending calls taking longer than expected, call time bubble overlapping notification icons, face unlock prompt taking longer to disappear, low battery icon a miss in landscape mode and incorrect notification badges on WhatsApp.

But going by latest user reports, the same update triggered camera-related issues. Poor camera quality and blurry pictures are troubling Redmi Y2 users after the update. Here’s how some of the complainants word the problem at the company’s official help forum:

Dear xioami Redmi developer please help me after update 10.3.1.0 camera image quality poor and BLURY image shoot please help

What’s good is soon after user reports began populating the forum, the same device team’s member acknowledged the camera quality issue and informed users that it’ll be fixed in the upcoming updates. Here’s what they said:

Please wait camera performance will be improved in upcoming updates
