This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on March 30) follows:
Earlier this month, the Mi A2 Lite Android 10 update started rolling out to select units across the globe, putting an end to previous speculations that the device would miss out on the new OS.
Not long after, though, multiple owners of the Mi A2 Lite were up in arms venting about the buggy Android 10 update from Xiaomi – an update that left some units bricked.
Amid fears of the growing reports getting out of control, Xiaomi quickly acknowledged the bootloop issue following the Mi A2 Lite Android 10 update and subsequently halted the rollout of the buggy firmware.
As a quick fix, Xiaomi advised affected Mi A2 Lite owners to RMA their bricked units or visit a service center for assistance. The company also promised to re-release a patched-up version of the update along with March 2020 security patch before this month ends.
And indeed, as I write this, we have confirmation from the Xiaomi Device Team on Mi forums that the update has been pushed to random users of the device to monitor the performance before embarking on a wider rollout.
Hey, Android 10 For Mi A2 [Lite] Is Partially Released For Ramdom Users, Will Be Available Soon For Everyone. Thanks.

To back the above claim, we’ve bumped into a Thai Mi A2 Lite owner who says they’ve just been notified to download and install the patched-up version of Android 10 OS. No similar reports are out there, though, which justifies the Mi Device Team’s statement.
The fact that the promised update is available for select units means some Mi A2 Lite owners will have to wait for several days or weeks before they can actually install the OS. We will also keep an eye on the official announcement and download link and update this story when they go live.
