Xiaomi has a huge range of smartphones in its portfolio. However, the smartphones are more in the budget and mid-range category, where the company holds the market all around the globe.
It is also interesting to see that such a successful company in a particular segment has not made it big, yet, in the flagship category. One reason could be that they prefer to go with a flagship killer device like the Redmi K20 Pro which packs in flagship level specs at a very affordable price.
When it comes to rolling out security updates, Xiaomi lags behind OEMs like OnePlus and Nokia etc. But, hey! That’s not the case with their flagship devices. If you the owner of the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro then, this piece of news will excite you as the company has pushed the August security update for it.
Bumping the version to V10.3.3.0, here’s what the changelog reads:
[System]
Updated Android Security Patch to August 2019. Increased system security.
[Mi Cloud]
New: Xiaomi Cloud items can appear in the search results of the Settings app
Along with the security patch, this update brings in one of the most popular features, the Digital Wellbeing for the Mi 9T Pro device. If you are not familiar, the Digital Wellbeing allows the users to spend less time on their smartphones and track their digital life.
You get to track your digital habits like how much time you spend on an app, how often you check your smartphone, etc. Moreover, it also lets you to limit the app usage giving you more time to spend on your work or with your friends and family. And now, Mi 9T Pro users also have access to this feature.
But right now, the latest update for the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro is available for the users in the EU region. However, it is expected to arrive in other regions soon (fingers crossed).
For a reminder, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro was unveiled on August 2019 and is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor which is paired with 6/8GB of RAM. The device sports a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display and runs Android 9 Pie out of the box.
In the display department, the device houses a triple camera setup with 48MP (wide) +8MP (telephoto) +13MP (ultrawide). And in the front you get a motorized pop-up 20MP camera. The device has a 4000 mAh battery and also has an under-display fingerprint scanner as well.
Note that this update will be rolled out in batches and will take some time to reach to your device. However, if you want to check whether the update is available for your device or not, you can check manually by heading to Settings>>About Phone>>System Updates.
