Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ start selling in the U.S. this Friday, but the devices are already receiving new software updates from Verizon Wireless. This comes only a day after the unlocked global variants of the Note 10 and Note 10+ also got their first software update since launch.

Verizon made history when it became the first American carrier to offer mainstream 5G, thanks to the exclusive partnership with Samsung for the launch of the Galaxy S10 5G back in May 2019. If for some reason the S10 5G didn’t wow you, the carrier also has the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G coming up.

Equally, those who pre-ordered the Note 10+ 5G will also join their LTE variants’ counterparts in receiving this same update from The Big Red. If anything, the changelog is the same for all three devices.

The updated Android security patch level is at August 2019, which is the latest version available from Google, although the search giant has already published release notes for the newer September 2019 security update based on Android Q.

For some reason, the standard Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is missing from Verizon’s software support pages, with only the Plus and 5G variants featuring. But as noted earlier, the changelog should be the same for all three devices, including the build number of the latest update, that is, ASH4.

The full Galaxy Note 10+ firmware is PPR1.180610.011.N975USQU1ASH4 while the Note 10+ 5G is receiving an update with firmware version PPR1.180610.011.N976VVRU1ASH4.

The fact that Verizon has already updated the software support pages for the Galaxy Note 10 implies that the software is ready to roll out. But since the devices to receive the updates in question aren’t out there yet, it’ll have to wait until they enter the market.

If anything, the ASH4 update should hit your Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+ or Note 10+ 5G on Verizon once you boot it out of the box, if not a few days or so later.

As noted at the beginning, the global variants of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ are also receiving a new update with August security patch. Whether this update brings the same changes as the version targeting Verizon models is still unknown, but it’s more likely than not.

The update to the global variants not only installed the latest security patch, but also improved the camera, touch screen performance, fingerprint recognition, and more.
