This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on April 1) follows:
Samsung Galaxy A50 is obviously not as fancy as the shiny Galaxy S20 series, but for its price and the value you get out of it, the A50 is undoubtedly one of the best Samsung phones released in 2019.
Sure, some will argue that despite rocking a handsome design and handy midrange specs, the A50 doesn’t have enough to stand a chance against the Google Pixel 3a.
Still, this doesn’t take away the fact that it remains one of the best sub-$400 Android phones, especially in the U.S. where the only other decent option is the Moto G series.
To make it even better, Samsung started rolling out the stable Galaxy A50 Android 10 update that brings the new One UI 2.0 custom skin to the handset. The update has so far been released in Korea and India and more regions should also join in the fun in the coming weeks.
Speaking of, the U.S. variant was reportedly lined up for a March 31 release date, but instead, the device picked up the March security update based on Android 9 Pie.
When asked about the Galaxy A50 Android 10 availability, Verizon Wireless support says the update can be expected anywhere between today and April 11.
This doesn’t surprise us at all given that not long ago, Android 10 test builds for Verizon and Sprint variants of the A50 were spotted online, suggesting that the rollout is imminent.
Apparently, the aim of the company is to bring forth the best version of Android for the Galaxy A50, something that has led some quotas to think of One UI 2.1 update, but you probably shouldn’t get your hopes too high.
The support guy also reiterated the fact that the Galaxy A50 is entitled to at least two major OS upgrades, meaning the update to Android 11 should also be expected, although this is a 2021 thingy.
