We always blame the heavy skins (custom UI) on OEMs like Samsung, LG, Xiaomi, Huawei, etc. for the delay in software updates. But, brands like Motorola that runs almost stock UI, has also been lagging in rolling out the latest Android 10 updates.

Android 10 is not a new kid on the block, and as a matter of fact, Google is already prepping up for the Android 11 release. There are several Motorola devices that are still in the pipeline to taste the Android 10 features.

Looking at the brighter side of things, one of the major US carriers, Verizon has made the Android 10 operating system available for the Moto Z4. PiunikaWeb readers should note that the regular Moto Z4 has already picked up the Android 10 update, in the previous month.

Verizon users were waiting for the Android 10 update for quite some time and the previous update that Verizon pushed for the Moto Z4 was the January 2020 security patch.

Talking about the Android 10 update for the device, it brings in tons of Android 10 core features like new navigation gestures, volume controls, system-wide dark mode, improvements in notifications, etc.

This new airborne OTA arrives with the version number QDF30.130-42. Check out the screenshot of the latest update for the Moto Z4 below, shared by one of the users:

Taking a look at the responses from other users, this update brings in the March 2020 security patch for the Moto Z4. However, when we checked the official Verizon update tracker, it is yet to be updated with the latest Android 10 update for the Moto Z4.

Notably, the updates are being pushed via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the units. However, users can manually check for the update notification by heading to Settings >>About phone>>System updates.

Verizon has updated the Moto Z4 software update page confirming the rollout of the Android 10 update.
