HMD Global is expected to get extremely busy with testing and actually rolling out Android 10 updates to several devices in the coming weeks. The company has already pushed the update to the Nokia 8.1 and next in line are the Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia 7.1.
Towards the very end of Q4 2019, the Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7 Plus are expected to join the party and in fact, you can already grab the internal Android 10 build and install it on your Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus or Nokia 7.1 ahead of official rollout.
The fact that internal builds are already doing rounds suggests that active testing is ongoing. However, we don’t have the exact release date of the OS for either device.
Amidst all these, HMD hasn’t stopped pushing the latest security patches to those devices whose Android 10 updates are still a long shot away.
As of this writing, October patches have already been released for Nokia 9 PureView, 7 Plus, 7.1, 6.1 Plus and 6.1; Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 2.1; as well as Nokia 3.1, 3.1 Plus, 5.1 and 5.1 Plus. However, it appears that some Nokia 6.1 Plus units haven’t seen any software update since August 2019.
I’m a Nokia 6.1 Plus user. I am not receiving OTA updates after the service centre visit. Google play protect says my device is not certified. This issue started after s/w update done by the service centre. Please do something, appreciated.
Same here ..my Nokia 6.1 plus is still in August 2019 patch. And, I received my mobile from the service center last week.

Apparently, several Nokia 6.1 Plus users are no longer receiving over the air (OTA) software updates. The same units are also showing that Google Play Protect is broken. Even worse is that the Netflix app is now incompatible with the device.
For some reason, though, it appears that most of the affected units started experiencing these issues right after visiting a Nokia service center for repair services.
Evidently, it seems these units were installed with uncertified software by the technicians in the service centers while addressing the charging port issue.
My device had charging port issue and the issue was fixed by authorised service centre. However after that I am not getting updates. Both September and October update is released. Meanwhile checking I came to know that the device play protect certification should be certified in order to get the update. Before giving to the service center the device was certified and now it is showing as “device is not certified” and because of this I am not getting the updates.

I was using netflix from 3-4 months but now i cannot download it again after i visited service centre for the charging issue i was facing on my Nokia 6.1 plus. The Netflix app says the deviceisn’t compatible. Also i checked that my device is not certified in google play protect. Could anyone suggest any remedy for my problem?

On the other hand, there have also been cases of units that are experiencing these issues right out of the box, which means they come with the buggy software pre-installed.
Given that the affected Nokia 6.1 Plus units cant receive OTA updates, it means these issues cant be fixed via a software update. Apparently, the only way to fix the issue is to install an older bug-free firmware after which the issues will be addressed.
As everyone know most 6.1+ users were facing charging port issue and once it is fixed from service centre, the device was not getting updates. The main reason for this was the device was not play protect certified. You can check this by following the below step : Open playstore > Settings > Play protect certification, check whether it is mentioned device is certified or device is not certified. So how to fix whose device is not certified. Goto service center and ask them to install lower version os. If possible ask them install 3.51H version or the version whic has July security patch because most of the users who is not receiving update will be on August security patch. Visit the service center and the issue will be solved. My device is now play protect certified and has October security patch installed.

Going forward, you will be able to receive OTA updates to the latest October security patches as well as the upcoming Android 10 upgrade, just like before you took your device to the service center.
