Hey ShowBox users, did you experience issues accessing the service through the app in the past 24 hours? Well, if yes, we’d like you to be aware that it was due to a problem with ShowBox servers. Team ShowBox acknowledged the problem through its official Twitter handle.

Our servers have ran into some issues apologies for the inconvenience!

While the problem was resolved in a few hours, the team shared users may intermittently face these kind of issues over the next few days. Here’s what exactly they said:

The #ShowBox servers are working for the time being, but be wary of instability so they may go up and down in the next few days

So you see, if you face similar issues in the upcoming week, now you know it’s expected. Sadly, the team didn’t say what these issues were and whether or not they were legal in nature.

The reason we’re bringing the legal angle here is, after ShowBox again started working following a major issue in late November, the team shared there were some legal issues.

Greetings everyone that has supported our APK for many years. Show Box has unfortunately been undergoing some legal issues which has concluded in our services being declined

Although the service is working normally for weeks now, team ShowBox had already made it clear after the November issue that similar problems may arise again.

We have been working on our servers for #Showbox everyday and they have improved massively! Our services should be staying around for a while longer ? If we get into any trouble we will post here. Thanks for the support!

For those who aren’t aware about the legal issues ShowBox has been involved in, back in may this year, a bunch of movie studios – including Dallas Buyers Club, Cobbler Nevada, and Bodyguard Productions – filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the founder as well distributors of ShowBox, including websites like showboxappdownload.co, Showboxappdownload.com, and Showbox.en.uptodown.com/android.

While a lot happened in between, the latest development in this case came just in the second half of November when it was reported that ShowBox distributors have settled the lawsuit with movie studios.

Although terms of the settlement remain unknown at the moment, one change is clearly visible: the websites promoting the app/service have started showing a blunt warning that ShowBox isn’t something users can trust when it comes to copyright protected movies/media.

Since the service came back from dead, the team behind ShowBox has revealed the most watched show as well as shared the reason why they don’t have latest movies at the moment.

Recently, there were reports about the availability of a new ShowBox update (version 5.26), but we explained why you should refrain from updating just yet.
