New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

We are nearing the mid of August, and OEMs – like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Huawei, Sony, Nokia, Realme and others – are speeding up the latest Android security patch circulation process on respective devices. But the South Korean phone manufacturer Samsung somehow seems to be lagging behind.

Samsung phones are still receiving the July OTA. Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup (S10e/S10/S10+ as well as the 5G variant) received the July update some weeks back. As we highlighted earlier, Verizon was the first US carrier to push the July security patch. Following that, AT&T also released the update.

And now, T-Mobile is pushing the July security patch to the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, & Galaxy S10e. The currently circulating July update bears builds G973USQU2ASGC (S10), G975USQU2ASGC (S10+) and G970USQU2ASGC (S10e).

However, unlike rest of the big 3 US carriers (Verizon, AT&T & Sprint), T-Mobile didn’t provide the dedicated Night mode camera feature in the July OTA. Sad, but true. And users of course aren’t happy about it as can be seen in the following selection of comments:

I just downloaded the new update for my Galaxy S10+ still no night mode like AT&T, Verizon and Sprint customers all got WTF. Step up your game for your customers on the updates.

Is there a reason why the T-Mobile variant of the Samsung Galaxy S10 hasn’t received the dedicated night mode camera? It’s a shame that AT&T, Verizon and Sprint have the dedicated night mode camera for a month already.

Here are some of the user shared images in which Night mode is nowhere to be seen:

For what reason has the feature been excluded? Well, that only the carrier can tell. For now, Galaxy S10 users on TMO network will have to wait more to get the trending Nigh mode camera feature. Lets hope the carrier provides the feature in the next update. Fingers crossed.

Anyway, as is usually the case with updates, they are rolled out in batches, and the current patch is no different. So the OTA may take time to land on all Galaxy S10 unit. Hang in tight!

In you don’t wish to wait for the OTA, you can tab the update by heading to Settings> Software update> Download updates manually. Happy installing!

Update (August 19)

The August security patch is now available on US unlocked Galaxy S10 units. Those using T-Mobile SIM are getting July patch with camera night mode. Details here.
