Android 10, like other major OS updates, has been the talk of the town since it landed. While many rejoice the feel factor of the newer and smoother UI and features like dark mode, gesture navigation, and others which Android Q brought along, a lot of smartphone users haven’t even yet got to taste the flavor of the latest OS.
OEMs, on the other hand, are working vigorously to bring Android 10 to the left out compatible devices. Take for example the Korean phone maker LG, who recently revealed their Android 10 (LG UX 9.0) roadmap for this year, as per which nine more LG devices will be upgrading to LG UX 9.0.
The list includes LG V50 (in Q1), LG G8X (in Q2), LG G7, LG G8S, and LG V40 (in Q3) LG K50S, LG K40S, LG K50, and LG Q60 (in Q4). Coming to LG G8S and G8X’s kin, LG G8 ThinQ, as you may be aware, the OS went live for the Korean variants back in November, last year.
US carriers Sprint and Verizon followed later.
But LG G8 users on the T-Mobile network were left gawking. While device users await Android 10, what the phone is getting is the January security patch (sized 204.7MB) instead.
Meanwhile, curious LG G8 users who’ve been inquiring T-Mobile support about when is Android 10 going to make way to their units, have been getting to hear responses like devices in the Korean region are already receiving the update or there’s no known date as yet.

I haven’t heard any word on a date, but our continue will be updated if that changes.
Looking at the support’s response, the wait may be longer for LG G8 users on T-Mobile. Though we hope not long enough. Moreover, let’s also not forget that support may not always be aware of the complete picture. Better keep your fingers crossed.
