Due to the lack of interesting products under their belt, LG is slowly diminishing from the smartphone market. Where young brands like Realme and Xiaomi have captured their fair share of the pie, LG has just not been able to get into the groove.

Existing LG customers are facing issues with irregular security or firmware updates, which is clearly not helping the brand.

In fact, according to a report by Counterpoint Research, LG issues security updates to only 10% of its active smartphones, which is really a very disappointing number and the reason for customer’s distress.

However, in a recent development, T-Mobile has pushed in the latest November 2019 security patchset for its LG G7 ThinQ device. To recall, the phone was released in 2018 and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 paired with 4/6 GB of RAM.

It offers 64/128 GB of internal storage and houses a 3,000 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0. The main USP of the device is the dual rear camera that sports a 16 MP+16 MP lenses and a single 8 MP camera on the front.

A few weeks back, we have reported that the US unlock variants of the LG G7 ThinQ got the October security update. Now, coming back to this OTA, it arrives with the version number G710TM20f. The update is based on Android 9 Pie.

Moreover, the update is purely incremental in nature and just bumps the security patch level of the LG G7 ThinQ to November 2019. Below is the official changelog along with the screenshot of the same:

Note that the update is rolled out via OTA in batches and will take some time to reach your device. However, you can always go ahead and check for the update manually by heading to Settings>>System>>Update Center>>Software Update>>Check Now.

If a new update is available, a notification will show and you can tap on it to install the update. However, if you have received the update notification, then you need to have patience and let the update arrive in your region.

Happy installing!
