Apart from buying smartphones directly from the manufacturers, you can also get locked units from telecom networks. One of the advantages is, you will not have to pay the whole amount in one go. But instead, the carriers give you the option for small EMIs to bag your favourite phone.

When Google Pixel series launched back in 2016, those who preferred carrier branded units could only get it from Verizon. The past three years had been the same. However in the second quarter of this year, both T-Mobile and Sprint joined the group.

Sprint offers Google Pixel 3 at a monthly instalment of $17.32 for 18 months. Many bought the phone from them after it had gone live on the official website. Given the innards and software support, nobody can deny the edge Pixels have over the other devices.

Irrespective of all that, Sprint Google Pixel 3 users are in a dilemma now. Their units started experiencing a weird trouble months back and it hasn’t been fixed yet. In case you are one among the concerned customers, you can relate to this post on Sprint Community.

Pixel 3 Not Compatible with Sprint Visual Voicemail?
I purchased a Pixel 3 recently and when I try to set up Sprint Visual Voicemail app, it times out when trying to verify my account information with the error “Account Verification Error – Communication with Voicemail-to-Text server has timed out”
I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled, including some of the other APK mirror versions of the app available in other threads, but with no luck. Also updated my android version, again with no luck. Is there a way to resolve this? I need some type of app to notify me when I receive voicemails.

There were others, for whom the app worked for the first few months. And at present, nobody can use Sprint Visual Voicemail in the intended way on the Pixel 3 (the previous generation Pixels don’t support it). Even the Android 10 update didn’t seem to have fixed the issue.

But for a few customers, installing an app called Sprint Hub solved the problem (right after upgrading to Android 10, they got a notice to install it). Even a Community Manager confirmed that Visual Voicemail needs this application for smooth functioning.

What if you don’t want to install another app? Or you couldn’t evade the issue with Sprint Hub? Well then, you will have to wait. An official posted affirmative about a fix in the works. They may release it through an update. If and when that happens, we will update this story.
