While other smartphone manufacturers are looking for ways on how to compete with Google in terms of rolling out security and firmware updates, there is LG which – like some other OEMs – is still stuck at pushing the August 2019 security update to their devices.

The latest one is meant for the Sprint variant of the LG G8 ThinQ. This should not come as a surprise as the South Korean company, has been performing the same lately. Take for example LG G8 ThinQ’s predecessor LG G7 that received the August OTA recently.

However, it’s worth mentioning that some users on Reddit have reported there comes along a a bug with this update, where the WiFi connection cuts off frequently. Though how widespread the issue is, it’s yet to be seen.

If you have not received this update on your Sprint LG G8 ThinQ then, you can manually check for it by heading to Settings>>About Phone>>System Updates>>Update. If there is any update, you will be notified of it and you can tap it to install the latest update on your device.

However, note that the update is rolled out in batches and will take some time to reach your device. So, you have to be patient and let the update arrive on your device via OTA.

Since the official changelog for this update is not available, we are not sure of what new this update brings for the LG G8 ThinQ smartphone on the Sprint carrier network.
