We have all been there. You are recording important audio, say a lecture in class but your data is on. Your group chat notifications keep coming in and your phone vibrates with each and every one of them.

Later when you have to playback the recording, it is punctuated with these vibration noises from your device every so often that your recording is almost useless. Well, this can be all in the past, thanks to a new jailbreak tweak called DNDMyRecording.

The developer says that this tweak was built in response to a user request on one of the forums. This just goes to show the level of engagement and robustness that the jailbreak community holds in this day and age.

DNDMyRecording does exactly what the name suggests. This jailbreak tweak enables the “Do Not Disturb” mode when a screen recording is initiated. After the recording ends, the Do Not Disturb setting is returned to the state it was beforehand.

However, there is a small point to note. In order to use this tweak properly, it is important to make sure that your DND settings are set to “Always” and not to “Only while the device is locked“.

The tweak is already public and is now live on Packix. You can head on to this link on your jailbroken iOS device to get the tweak. The developer also adds thatDNDMyRecording tweak’s source code is available on his GitHub. You can access it here.

This is such a simple tweak that can be incredibly useful. It is surprising that with all the refinement that has gone into iOS, and even Android over the years, such a little feature has not made it onto the respective platforms natively.

That said, Google recently pushed out an update to Google Camera on the Pixel 4 to enable a similar feature. The new DND mode in Google Camera will prevent notifications from interrupting the users when shooting a video. Worth noting that after the update this feature is enabled by default. We can only hope that similar features become more available.

NOTE: We have these and many more Jailbreak tweaks in our dedicated jailbreak section.
