NOTICE: We’ve created an archive of all major developments related to the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup. We are continuously updating that page with latest S10e/S10/S10+ news so that you don’t need to search for information related to the device on daily basis. Head here to access that page.
Samsung is not a newbie in the field of true wireless headphones. They attempted to tap the markets in past with two generations of the Gear IconX. However, the second gen IconX users were riddled with frequent bugs and issues.
With the launch of Galaxy Buds, the South Korean electronics giant moves away from the Gear branding and makes these earbuds a part of the Galaxy family. 2019’s flagship Galaxy S10 lineup even comes bundled with a free pair of Galaxy Buds in selected markets as a part of pre-order deals.
In case you forget, GalaxyClub.nl hinted about the promotional offer long before the official announcement.
In India, the free bundle is not available though. As part of the Galaxy S10 pre-book offer, Samsung offered the Samsung Buds at the discounted price of ₹2,999 during the period 22nd February 10am to 5th March 2019.
The eligibility criterias are as follows:
…you will be required to activate the Device between 6th March to 31st March 2019 and register on the Samsung Shop App (to be downloaded from the Google Play Store) on or before 31st March 2019 with the same mobile number which has been used for pre-booking & activating the Device.
After officially launching the Galaxy S10 lineup in India on March 6, Samsung hiked the price of the Galaxy Buds. Users can now buy Galaxy S10e / S10 /S10+ and grab the Buds at ₹4,999.
Not a bad deal though, as the retail pricing of the Galaxy Buds is ₹9,990.
Once again, users need to pass the criteria test which can be done via Samsung Shop app.
Only one Product can be purchased against one mobile number. The Customer has to use the same mobile number to activate the Product and to do first sign-in to Samsung Shop App (to be downloaded from Google Playstore) for redemption of the offer.
In case the customer uses different mobile numbers for activating the Product and for first sign-in to Samsung Shop App, he/she shall not be eligible for the offer and no claims shall be entertained in this regard.
Every customer purchasing and activating the Product during the Offer period shall be eligible to purchase Galaxy Buds at Rs. 4999/- subject to the condition that the mobile number used for Product activation and first sign in to Samsung Shop App should be the same.
And here we go – users are now complaining that the Samsung Shop app is simply unable to read the one time password (OTP) while registering.

Pre booked Galaxy S10. Received yesterday...
1. Battery draining way too faster.
2. Not able to redeem galaxy buds because samsung shop doesn't allow to manually enter OTP and neither automatically registering it even after all permissions given. pic.twitter.com/GnIKG8jDnT

Moreover, there is no way to enter it manually. It may not be a typical permission issue, as reported by users.
@SamsungMobileIN Samsung Shop app doesn't read the OTP, and there is no manual way to enter this. I'm not able to get the promotional offers because of this.

I got my pre ordered S10+ today but theres a weird bug with the Samsung Shop app. I can see the offer and when I click check eligibility then the app sends an otp and I wait for it to auto read since theres no way to enter the otp manually. I do get the otp in sms but the app doesnt read the otp at all. I have given it all permissions ( phone, sms, storage etc) and even tried reinstalling the app but it doesnt work. Any ideas?

A screenshot should be helpful for better understanding.
Frustrated users are giving single star reviews to the Samsung Shop app in Google Play Store.
what a responsible way to handle offers.. the app is not reading the OTP. How can a Giant company like this shows this kind of lame and irresponsible behavior. phone lines are busy for hours.. no reply to emails.chat service sucks. just because they don’t have stocks. they will do this till customer gets fed up. Thanks.

OTP verification does not work . i got the s10 and when i try to register the device to redeem my galaxy buds , it doesnt give me the option to redeem , but if i use a number not eligible for a redemtion it accepts and says not eligible for buds. a cheeky way to hold on to their samsung buds stock

Reinstalling the app or factory resetting are not helpful.
The latest build of the app is 1.0.13870 which was released yesterday (March 7). Looks like Samsung engineers pushed a buggy update in a rushed manner.
