[Updated] Samsung Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update reportedly in doubt, probably Galaxy S9 too

Samsung is already rolling out the updated One UI 2.1 skin even before some devices pick up the older One UI 2.0 update that brings Android 10 OS.

The newer One UI 2.1 update started rolling out last month to the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 series of devices, tagging along a bunch of new features that came pre-installed on the Galaxy S20 series.

In a recent coverage, we also highlighted a couple of nifty additions in One UI 2.1 update meant to give you the best returns as far as battery life and health are concerned.

So far, the Exynos variants of the Note 10 and S10 are receiving the update, with folks in the U.S. and other markets where the Snapdragon variants are sold still waiting for their turn, probably before the end of this month.

Speaking of waiting, we had reported that the Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update is in the works and that the rollout would begin soon after the Galaxy Note 10 and S10. But according to fresh reports from Korea, it appears that Samsung isn’t sure about providing the One UI 2.1 update to this device.

Apparently, the company will have a decision this month (April) after verifying the compatibility of the One UI 2.1 build with the device.

In the previous report, it had also been touted that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be updated to One UI 2.1 alongside the Note device. Now that the Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update seems doubtful, we can as well expect the same with respect to the S9 duo.

But of course, none of this is official from Samsung, so we wait to see what time has in store for Note 9 and S9 owners.
