Now that Android 10 is publicly available to Google Pixel family (and a bunch of other phones), Samsung fans are getting curious. Historically the Korean OEM required some extra time to integrate their heavy skin on top of vanilla Android, but we may see a quicker rollout this time.
Back in July, we talked about the evidences that popped up inside the Samsung update servers related to the tenth iteration of Android on Galaxy S10 series. Unfortunately the build identifiers were heavily encrypted, so there was no way to download those internal builds.
However, Brazilian YouTuber Dudu Rocha apparently got their hands on a leaked build of One UI 2.0 (based on Android 10) for Galaxy S10+. The person elaborately showed us the revamped security settings, brand new navigational gestures and plenty of other components.
There is no strict time frame from Samsung about the actual availability of One UI 2.0 for the Galaxy S10 or the newly announced Galaxy Note 10 devices. Despite being one of the largest Android phone makers in the world, Samsung did not participate in the public beta testing of Android Q (10) organized by Google.
Well, there is this unexpected twist in the current situation. T-Mobile, who literally took months to deliver the camera night mode on Galaxy S10 series, is allegedly testing the Android 10 update for current gen Samsung flagships!
Technically there is nothing new in the announcement. OEMs and carriers always have dedicated access to the codebase long before public release. The thing is, T-Mobile says that the phone is going to pass though the carrier specific certification process, which means Samsung already finished their work on the One UI part.
In fact, we are also able to locate a similar knowledge base article for T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10. Now do the math: the Korean OEM must already delivered the generic Android 10 based One UI 2.0 software update to wireless carriers so that they can perform all those compatibility tests and little modifications before the final rollout.
