A few years ago, Samsung mid-range device consumers used to wonder how the company climbed up the ladder to top the list of best selling smartphone brands. Despite their dominancy in the flagship segment, they failed to woo the users in other price brackets.
Nonetheless, Galaxy M series changed this scenario in the beginning of this year. M10, M20, M30, and M40 seemed to have regained the lost reputation of the vendor among the budget sensitive users. Maybe, that’s why the OEM upgraded the third one to M30s.
In case you are a Samsung phone user, you know they don’t own the pole position when it comes to major OS updates. Even the flagship devices from the South Korean brand are yet to receive Android 10. But that’s not the same with security overhauls.
Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9 started receiving November security updates in Canada today. To recall, yesterday, the same went live for S8 as well. What’s circulating now is the November patch for Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+ (2018).
As you read earlier, even the flagship offerings haven’t got Android 10. So, expecting it with this OTA is ambitious, isn’t it? Not just that, the update doesn’t bring any fixes or new features to the devices, just the November patch.
We have managed to find the download link to the package for Galaxy A8. Apparently, you can download and place it in the root directory to begin manual installation. We’ll update this story once we get our hands on A8+’s package.

What if you want to get the OTA notification organically? Well, you may have to wait for a few days. You know! Over the air overhauls go live in batches. Meaning, not all the devices get the update at the same time.
