According to Google, your business/enterprise Android smartphone is good with quarterly Android security updates and not necessarily monthly security updates that everyone craves for.
For the uninitiated, the search giant keeps a list of devices that it specifically approves for use in the business space. Google says these devices undergo rigorous testing to ensure they are safe and secure to house your prestigious business dealings.
To guarantee their continued safety and privacy, the search giant mandates that respective OEMs should push new security updates within every 90 days. But for a device that is supposed to guarantee ultimate privacy, I think it should be receiving security updates on a monthly basis.
Android Enterprise Recommended helps ensure devices are up to date with regular security patches delivered within 90 days. Android Enterprise Recommended service providers are always current on the latest Android features and training.

To this end, the recent addition of the business-centric Samsung Galaxy Fold to the list of the company’s devices that are guaranteed to receive monthly security updates should bring huge relief for potential buyers of this device.
Samsung Galaxy Fold users will now join the likes of Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 in receiving security updates on a monthly basis, which is what you want to see on a premium enterprise device like the Fold.
Joining it will be the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy Xcover 4s. The former is a popular budget phone that is sold in multiple markets, including through various U.S. carriers while the latter is the company’s newest addition to the rugged Xcover series.
Prior to today, both the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy Xcover 4s were listed among Samsung devices that receive quarterly security updates, but it seems the popularity of the handsets – or at least the former – has convinced Samsung to elevate their status to that of receiving monthly security updates.
The Galaxy A50 is already receiving the latest October security update in Europe. Whether this will be the update that ushers in monthly rollouts or the wait will go until November remains unknown, but none of that will matter to owners of the device.
