At this point, it is common knowledge that carrier variants of devices often lag behind both the unlocked and the international variants of the same device in terms of updates.

Well, this could not be truer for the Samsung Galaxy S9, and the Galaxy Note 9 smartphones. These Samsung flagships from 2018 still remain solid choices even today. As such, they are very much in line for Android 10-based OneUI 2.

Samsung embarked on the global rollout of Android 10-based OneUI 2 for the Samsung Galaxy S9 sometime in early February. The update has since, been rolled out to Galaxy S9 devices in various markets and regions, much to the delight of users. You can read more about that here.

Canadian Telco, Telus recently announced that it would be rolling out Android 10 to its Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, along with the Note 9 as from today, March 9. Well, other Canadian carriers have also just announced that they will be rolling that out today as well.

Rogers Canada in a recently published OS Upgrade Schedule has listed the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, along with the Galaxy Note 9 as devices that will be getting updated to Android 10 on March 9.

Fido has also announced that it also plans to roll out Android 10 to its Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ and the Galaxy Note 9 on March 9 as well. This is from the company’s OS Upgrade Schedule.

Android 10 has been out for the International Samsung Galaxy Note 9 for the better part of last month. Many regions have reported receiving an update to this new build of Android already. You can read more about that here.

We shall keep an eye on this rollout and update as users begin to receive the updates on their devices. However, with this rollout coming weeks after the global rollout, we do not expect issues as these should have been ironed out by now.

Users of at least Samsung Galaxy Note 9 on Rogers and Telus are now reporting they are getting the One UI 2.0 update in Canada.
