The jailbreak community has been the source of countless useful tweaks, some that have even made it to onto newer versions of iOS in some shape or form.

This community continues to thrive, with new tweaks seemingly coming out every day. Some of these tweaks are merely cosmetic enhancements while others are a little more useful. You can check out our dedicated Jailbreak tweak section for more of these.

Fueling this jailbreak movement is a team of developers behind two main jailbreak tools, checkra1n and unc0ver. These tools are updated to support even the very latest version of iOS and to fix any bugs that might crop up.

Today we look at yet another jailbreak tweak that aims to change the look and feel of the stock iOS lock screen. Viper hopes to bring new features to the lock screen, such as weather indicators alongside the date and time, media controls, notifications and more, all laid out in a much better format.

In a promotional video released by the developer in a bid to drum up anticipation, the tweak shows a radically different iOS lock screen with aspects of the same, spilling over onto the device’s home screen.

It is still not quite clear the scope of changes that this is expected to bring to the iOS lockscreen but from the look of things based on the video released, color me impressed.

The tweak is still very much in the works and the developer hasn’t issued timelines for when the tweak is expected to be ready for limelight. Also unclear is whether this will be a free or paid tweak. That said, chances are it will go for a rather reasonable $1.99.

Probably $1.99 because it has more things and customizations that you haven’t seen.

We shall keep an eye on this tweak and update as, and when we get more information about the same.
