As we are on the verge of ending this year, OEMs are trying their best in order to update their devices to the latest firmware or security patch levels. 

Xiaomi had quite a phenomenal run at the smartphone market this year, especially in India. The brand came out on top among other smartphone manufacturers in India and went to achieve record sales this year as well.

Moreover, the brand has also been quite busy with the rollout of the MIUI 11 updates for its devices across the globe. Side by side, security updates are also in the pipeline.

And in a recent development, Xiaomi has pushed in new updates for the Redmi Y3 and Mi Note 3. Reportedly, Redmi Y3 is grabbing the December 2019 patchset, while the Mi Note 3 gets November update.

Let us take a look at the updates, one by one:

Redmi Y3

Redmi Y3 which was launched back in April 2019, is getting the December security patchset along with some additional optimization and bug fixes. Previously, the device has already got the MIUI 11 stable update in India back in October 2019.

Cut to now, the new update is arriving with the version number V11.0.4.0.PFFINXM and weighs in around 1.7 GB for the full update package file. Notably, the update is based on Android 9 Pie.

2017’s Mi Note 3 is also getting a new update that brings in the system and other enhancements for the device. Notably, it also packs in the November patchset. The device received stable MIUI update in early November.
