Xiaomi has been steadily rolling out MIUI 12 to eligible devices over the past couple of months. A lot of the devices slated to bag this build have done so.

As we approach the tail end of this deployment, a few eligible devices still remain without an official MIUI 12 build, much to the frustration of said device owners.

One such device is the Redmi Note 8T. We’ve covered all the intricacies that have dogged this device’s path to MIUI 12 and you can check that out here.

Most recently, we saw reports that suggested MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 8T would take a little longer than expected.

This, despite prior reports that firmly set the release date for this build to sometime this October.

Well, good news to users of the Redmi Note 8T as finally, we have a MIUI 12 build for you!

This update is going out to the global variant, with the European and Russian variants waiting in the wings, at least for now.

The update is based on Android 10 and bears a software version number V12.0.1.0.QCXMIXM.

Also baked into this build is the updated October 2020 security patch. Below is a rather uncharacteristic changelog.

Control center
-Optimization: Control center layout in landscape mode
System
-Fix: Noise could be heard when the screen was turned off in some cases
-Updated Android Security Patch to October 2020. Increased system security.
-Stable MIUI based on Android 10

So this MIUI 12 update should be hitting global variants of the Redmi Note 8T as an OTA over the next few days (classic Xiaomi).
