Xiaomi’s current skin on top of Android, MIUI 12, has been all the rage within the Xiaomi community for a while now. And for good reason. This skin is as feature-packed as we’ve come to expect from MIUI.

A redesigned notification shade in form of the new Control Center, beautiful UI redesigns, and a more serious push towards privacy of user data are just some of the key selling points for this MIUI 12 update.

We’ve seen a decent number of eligible devices bag this much-awaited, much-hyped update, to the delight of these owners. We have a dedicated tracker for the same and you can check it out here.

About a week ago, we saw reports that Xiaomi was commencing the rollout of MIUI 12 to devices listed in the third batch of this deployment.

This is in line with the company’s roadmap to MIUI 12 that was made available early in the year, albeit with a few adjustments over the months.

Even as that happens, there are still a number of devices that, while still eligible for an update to MIUI 12, this has proved very elusive. Some of the devices we’ve covered include:

Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T
Redmi Note 9 Pro/ Note 9S/ Note 9 Pro Max
Poco M2 Pro
Redmi Note 7

Today, thanks to a tip from one Jancee Kenn Escuro Abonita, we get a little insight as to what Xiaomi is planning with regards to the ongoing MIUI 12 rollout.

MIUI 12 rollout

In a shared screenshot of the conversation with Xiaomi’s help desk, we now learn that Xiaomi plans to complete the rollout by end of October.

MIUI 12 rollout

The Xiaomi UK representative says in his response that:

By the end of October, more probably all Xiaomi devices that could support the MIUI 12 would have it.

We really hope that this comes to materialize. Knowing Xiaomi, this is pretty possible, especially seeing just how methodical this rollout has been.

Also, this is a rather welcome move as attention in the Android community is shifting over to Android 11 and Xiaomi needs to start focusing on that now.

We already have a purported list of Android 11-eligible Xiaomi devices. For details on the state of Android 11 for Xiaomi, check out our tracker.
