Arguably one of the most desired mid-range smartphones of 2019, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is every enthusiast’s dream phone right now. And rightfully so, because for the price, this device packs quite the punch.
From a sleek design with colors that ooze quality to a beefy 4,500 mAh battery and the crown jewel, Mediatek Helio G90T that tops most mid-range devices in benchmark scores and in gaming performance.
Since its launch back in August, the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro have received a bunch of updates. The Redmi Note 8 Pro in China got the MIUI 10.4.11.0.PGGCNXM OTA.
This was a small change from the previous version, implying that the tweaks wouldn’t be that many, and they weren’t. Other than little improvements and optimization of system performance, there wasn’t much to that update.
During the mid of October, the European variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro received a new MIUI 10 update as V10.4.5.0.PGGEUXM. This mainly optimized system performance and improved system security and stability.
Fast forward to November 1st and MIUI Global Stable ROM V10.4.2.0.PMGGMIXM for Redmi Note 8 Pro is official.

Xiaomi says it is actively pushing out this update to all Global variants of the Note 8 Pro and that users should be getting the OTA really soon. If that hasn’t arrived for you, you might want to open your Updater app and refresh it. If you are not the patient type, here is a download link for you.

On the other hand, the Indian variant of the same phone is also getting an incremental bugfix OTA. The official changelog is quite vague, so we can’t decipher the actual changes.
As you can see, the size of the OTA package is merely 180 MB. It is second update for the Indian Redmi Note 8 Pro after the day-one patch. Remember, MIUI 11 (and probably Android 10) update is still quite far!
