New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 11, 2019) follows:

The Redmi Note 6 Pro by Xiaomi was launched back in October 2018 and is the predecessor to the Redmi Note 7 Pro. This device was Xiaomi’s first smartphone with an AI-powered quad-camera. It was also the first Redmi phone with dual selfie camera for brighter portrait shots

Powering this device is a mid-ranger chip, i.e. Snapdragon 636. Certainly not a powerhouse at launch and most definitely not one right now. However, this chip isn’t underpowered by any means. Perhaps that is why it keeps receiving these updates.

The device that was launched with Android 8.1, skinned with MIUI 10. It has since been updated to Android Pie, albeit with some drama. Monthly updates have been consistent and today, Redmi Note 6 Pro users have something to smile about.

Xiaomi is rolling out MIUI 11, their latest and greatest skinned version of Android, onto the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The skin is still based on Android 9 Pie. There is still no word on when Android 10 will be available.

Matter of fact, the OTA is kinda early. In the masterplan, Redmi Note 6 Pro was part of the third phase of the MIUI 11 rollout. The rollout is scheduled to take place between November 13-29.
