Users have become more knowledgeable regarding the security updates that are being pushed over by their OEMs. These security updates carry important fixes for severe vulnerabilities that can cause damage to the device.

OEMs like Google, OnePlus, Nokia, etc, are some of the names that understand the importance of the timely rollout of security updates. Besides, users have also created a sense of liking towards brands that could provide them with timely updates.

There are devices that have received the latest October security patch on time however, some of the devices have still not been able to tick the box for the month of September.

And in a recent development, Xiaomi and Huawei have pushed the September 2019 security patch for the Redmi 6 Pro and Mate 20 Pro smartphones, respectively. Let us take a look at each of the updates one by one.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

With this new update, the security level of the device bumps up from August 2019 to September 2019. The latest update carries the version number v9.1.0.338 and weighs in around 145MB in size.

Note that the EMUI 10 beta which is based on the latest Android 10 was rolled out for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro in Europe, a few days back.

Redmi 6 Pro

Xiaomi phones are not in the likes of Nokia, OnePlus, etc when it comes to pushing out updates. However, the company also does not delay the software updates either.

With the new update, the Redmi 6 Pro gets the September 2019 security patch. Note that the device has received the July security patch on time in July itself. However, interestingly it is not listed under the Mi Pilot program for the MIUI 11 global rollout, but part of the official roadmap.
