Although the Android 10 updates are already available for the Realme XT and Google Pixel 2 XL, those who are running LineageOS custom ROM can now install LineageOS 17.1 that brings in all the Android 10 features for both the phones.

For those who do not know, LineageOS is a free and open-source operating system for Android devices. It is the successor to the popular Cyanogenmods that was discontinued in 2016 and then came in the LineageOS.

There are tons of customization features, security and privacy features and developers features that you can tweak on your Android device after installing LineageOS.

Coming back to the recent development, notably, the unofficial LineageOS 17.1 is now available for Realme XT that also brings all the new features of Android 10.

On the other hand, Google Pixel 2 XL is getting the official support of LineageOS 17.1. PiunikaWeb readers should know that we have earlier covered a report about the unofficial LineageOS 17.1 for the Google Pixel 2 XL.

As per the XDA post, everything from the fingerprint scanner, camera, GPS, sensors, and Bluetooth, etc. are working with this unofficial LineageOS 17.1 for the Realme XT. Interested users can check out the kernel source code from here.

Here is the installation guide and the link to download the unofficial LineageOS 17.1 for the Realme XT:

Installation:
– Reboot to recovery
– Format /system, /data and /cache
– Install LineageOS zip package
– Optional: flash dtbo.img if coming from stock OS (COS or RUI)
– Install [optional] a Google Apps package of your choice (Open GApps is advisable, but stock and super variants are not recommended!!!)[/STRIKE]

Important notes:
– GApps can only be flashed on clean installs.
– Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if Stock os was previously installed and device was encrypted.

Google Pixel 2 XL (Official)

Reportedly, the Pixel 2 XL got the official support of the LineageOS 17.1 back in January 2020. And now, a detailed download and installation guide has come up.
