Realme, OPPO’s sub-brand is doing an amazing job. They’re pushing out mid-range devices that are really well spec’d for their price.

One such device is the Realme XT. It is an awesome mid-ranger with an AMOLED display, an under-display fingerprint sensor. Not to miss the big battery and the unique quad-camera setup. Its design is also on point. We rarely see mid-range devices with Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and rear.

The device came hot on the heels of the Realme 5 series. The headlining feature, apart from the price? That was the 64MP camera. Complete overkill? Especially in a market where MP doesn’t quite matter? Well, that remains to be argued.

In the past few weeks, we have seen more and more phone makers pushing out the November security update to their devices. Android phone users from Samsung to Huawei, Nokia to Realme have been getting the monthly security patch.

Android 10

Realme recently kickstarted the beta program for its next version of Color OS, ColorOS 7. This skin is based on Android 10. The Realme XT is part of this program and according to Realme’s Android 10 timeline, the Realme XT should get the Android 10 update in Q1 of 2020.

Usually, companies have beta programs meant to test the software before pushing it to the public. At the moment, Realme users don’t have this luxury, but this is about to change, at least for those in China.

For a period ending November 10, you could submit your interest to join the Realme beta program that aims to bring new features to your Realme smartphone ahead of others.

It’s worth noting that nowhere has Realme mentioned that this beta registration exercise has ColorOS 7 update in mind, but the timing with the recent announcement by OPPO that ColorOS 7 will arrive on November 20 couldn’t be more perfect.

The Realme beta program will initially accommodate a maximum of 1,000 people/units, so be sure to make your move quick or miss out. As for the first beta software, it will arrive late this month, which is once again a strong indicator that this is likely to be ColorOS 7 update with Android 10 beta.
