New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 01, 2020) follows:

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 to be held between February 24 and 27 will mark the debut of the Realme TV – or details about it for that matter.

The biggest mobile tech show on earth is set to kick off later this month at the usual venue in Spain. As the date approaches, companies are casting more light on what to expect at the event.

We already know about what companies like Samsung, Xiaomi, and even Motorola have in store for the event. Realme, as it seems, isn’t ready to miss out on the fun, but it has a surprise in store for you.

OnePlus TV

Instead of the usual smartphone stuff you’d expect, Realme has plans to enter the smart TV market via the MWC 2020 show. At this point, it’s unknown whether we’ll see the first Realme TV or if we’ll just hear about it.

Responding to a request by a Twitter user, Realme India CMO Francis Wang says something exciting about TV is coming at the event, but he doesn’t go into details about it.

U gonna hear something exciting abt TV on MWC!

With the massive growth of Xiaomi Mi TV in India and the recent entry of OnePlus TV and Huawei/Honor smart TVs into the market, it was only a matter of time before Realme took the bull by the horns.

Last year, 91Mobiles reported that Realme TV would arrive before the end of the year and even though it didn’t materialize, again, it was only a matter of time.

Matter of fact, this imminent arrival of a smart TV was reiterated early last month. If anything, Realme has just confirmed what has been looming all along.

Update (February 03, 2020)

Realme India CMO has further suggested that Realme laptops could be considered based on how good the Realme TV does in the market. About the Realme smartwatch and fitness band, Wang says the two are also coming. Seemingly, these two might even land sooner than later, but we wait.
