Realme started recruiting beta testers of the new ColorOS 7 for those using the Realme X2 Pro in China and India in late November, about a week after its parent company announced the Android 10-based custom skin.
Earlier today, we reported about the open recruitment into the same ColorOS 7 beta program for those using the Realme X from China or rather the Chinese edition of the device.
Now, Realme has just revealed the date Realme X2 Pro owners who submitted their interest to receive ColorOS 7 update in beta can expect to get the OTA download notification. Apparently, it’s going down next week Wednesday, December 18.
Next Wednesday (12.18) users recruited by the early adopter of realme X2 Pro will receive ColorOS 7 early adopters.

The above statement is targeting Chinese owners of the Realme X2 Pro, but we expect that those in India who are also interested to test Android 10 on this device ahead of stable rollout should receive their OTA soon after.
Realme ColorOS 7 features to expect
Realme is lining up a bunch of features to include in its version of ColorOS 7 update when it begins rolling out in stable version.
The company has already highlighted the close-to-stock version that will include features like new video recording option and revamped system settings, floating apps and smart sidebar, and many others.
In the latest highlights, Realme has shed some light on even more ColorOS 7 features to expect when the update arrives, with most of them based on user feedback and suggestions. Note that the initial post is in Chinese, so some translations might be a bit off.
Enhanced Dark mode
ColorOS 7 will let owners of Realme devices manually select the apps that are affected by the system-wide dark mode feature bundled into Android 10. Granted, one can choose to leave some apps out of the dark mode effect.
To do this, Realme devices updated to ColorOS 7 will get new settings in Settings >> Realme Lab >> Dark Mode >> Third-Party Application Dark to make the necessary changes.
Custom alarm ringtone
The update to ColorOS 7 will also include the option to set custom alarm ringtones as well as select “Add only”, “Off today” and “Always turn off alarm” when the alarm clock rings.
While at it, Realme will also take into account the suggestion of “Setting Notification Volume and Ringer Volume Separately Adjustable” when ColorOS 7 update arrives.
Improved note-taking tools
Realme also says the ColorOS 7 update will include some enhanced note-taking tools. Apparently, suggestions to add hand-painting function to notes and saving them as pictures have been accepted and will be implemented in the new update.
One-click read function
Those requesting the one-click read function, the company has now confirmed that it will indeed be part of the ColorOS 7 update when it arrives. This feature should be useful for those who receive lots of promotional or verification code texts and such.
Download progress bar
With the update to ColorOS 7, Realme devices will also show a download progress bar in the notification area when downloading software from the Play Store.
Of course, the ColorOS 7 update will also tag along plenty of optimizations to one-handed mode, power consumption, notifications, data usage, NFC function, navigation gestures, and so much more. You can check out the full announcement post here.
