New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

The nothing-to-hide relationship between OPPO and Realme feels rather quirky in some occasions. The latter does use OPPO’s ColorOS skin in their phones, although they are working on a separate fork (allegedly called Realme OS).

And what about rebranding? Take the following example:

Realme C1

Yes, 2018’s Realme C1 is actually a rendranded OPPO A3s. There is virtually no difference between these two phones, apart from the OEM specific bundled apps.

Talking about Realme C1, the Snapdragon 450 powered entry level phone was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo based ColorOS 5.2. However, the Chinese OEM started a beta testing initiative in last month (June) regarding ColorOS 6.0 update.

Realme 2, the other member of the pre-release testing roster, started receiving stable Pie update earlier today. Looks like Realme C1 is now following the same path, as several users are reportedly getting a huge (~2 GB) OTA update with the sweet taste of Pie.

The full build number of this new version of ColorOS for Realme C1 is RMX1811EX_11_A.54, whereas the last beta carried the tag of A.53.

The changelog remains same since the internal beta build. Apart from June 2019 security patches, Realme C1 owners now get plethora of bundled apps (or should I say bloatware?) from the company.

Funny thing is, Realme Support is still clueless about the arrival of the update. ?

As always, the OTA is being distributed in waves, so you can either wait for your turn or hit the ‘Check for update’ button like a mad man. We will include the download link of the full update package after capturing it, so keep watching our feed.

Update (July 25)

Realme is now rolling out a new set of ColorOS 6 based builds to Realme C1 and Realme 2. The changelogs are identical to the previous Android Pie update. Details here.
