[Updated] Realme 5 Pro Realme UI (Android 10) update rolls out right in time; Realme X also gets Android Q

For those who were waiting for the Realme UI (Android 10) updates on their Realme 5 Pro and Realme X can rejoice, as the company has made the Android 10 update live for the users.

The update brings in tons of new features for both the devices. However, Note that the updates for both the devices are a staged rollout and are being pushed for limited users for the time being. Eventually, there will be a broader rollout soon.

Earlier we have reported that both the Realme 5 Pro and the Realme X were supposed to be served with the Realme UI (Android 10) update by the last week of February and it seems that the Realme was finally able to pull that off.

Let us take a look at the updates received for both the devices, one by one:

Realme 5 Pro

A couple of days back, we have reported that Realme has pushed an update for the Realme 5 Pro that ensures the compatibility of the device with the Android 10 (Android Q) update.

Cut to now, the update is arriving with build number RMX1971EX_11_C.01 and brings in the Realme UI v1.0 based on Android 10. You can check out the official changelog of the Realme 5 Pro Realme UI update along with the screenshot for the same, below:

• Added screenshot settings: You can adjust the position of the screenshot preview floating window and set the screenshot sound.
• Optimized screenshot preview floating window: After taking a screenshot, drag it up and release to share it, or drag it down and release to take a long screenshot.

Navigation Gestures 3.0
• Optimized gestures: All gestures are supported in landscape mode.

System
• Added Focus Mode: Minimizes outside distractions when you are learning or working.
• Added whole new charging animation.
• Optimized the Quick Settings user interface for easier one-handed operation.
• Added pause feature for screen recording.
• Added a floating window and settings for screen recording.
• New sounds added for file deletion, calculator key touches, and compass pointer.
• Optimized system built-in ringtones.
• Added TalkBack floating prompts for Accessibility.
• New management feature for recent tasks: You can view memory of recent tasks and locked apps.

Games
• Optimized visual interaction for Game Space.
• Optimized loading animation for Game Space.

Homescreen
• Added new live wallpapers.
• Added artistic wallpapers.
• Added option to open Global Search or the notification panel when swiping down on homescreen.
• Added option to customize the size, shape, and style of app icons on homescreen.
• Optimized the graphic design of password unlock to facilitate one-handed operation.
• Support for animated wallpapers on the lockscreen.
• Added a Simple Mode for homescreen, featuring larger fonts, icons and a clearer layout.

Security
• Random MAC address Generator: When your phone is connected to Wi-Fi network system generates a random MAC address to avoid targeted ads and protect your privacy.

Tools
• In Quick Settings or Smart Sidebar, you can open Calculator in a floating window.
• Added the trim feature in Recordings.
• Added the Weather (dynamic) ringtone, which automatically adapts to the current weather.
• Added weather-adaptive animations in Weather.

Camera
• Optimized the Camera UI for better user experience.
• Optimized the Timer UI and sound.

Photos
• Optimized the Album UI for a clearer structure and photo thumbnails.
• Added Album Recommendations that recognize more than 80 different scenes.

Communications
• realme Share now supports sharing files with OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi devices.
• Optimized the Contacts UI for a more efficient experience.

Settings
• Search Settings now supports fuzzy match and contains a search history.

Music
● Added Dual Mode Music Share in realme Lab

In fact, users have also reported that they are indeed receiving the update via OTA.

Realme X

PiunikaWeb reader should know that yesterday, we have reported that the Android 10 (Realme UI ) update for the Realme X will be rolled out on February 28, and the company has pushed the update right in time.

Talking about the new update, it arrives with the build number RMX1901EX_11_C.01 and weighs in around 3.52 GB in size. It brings in tons of improvements for the camera, communications, system, music, network, home screen, games, etc.

The changelog of the update for the Realme X brings in all the same features as mentioned above for the Realme 5 Pro. You can check out the details here.

Note that the download links are not yet available (as confirmed by a Realme Admin on Twitter), but they should be up soon and once they are out, we will update this story with the download links.

Users can go ahead and check for the update manually on Realme 5 Pro and Realme X by heading to Settings>>Software Updates>>Check for new updates.

Update 1 (Feb 29)

We’ve got hands-on the Realme UI update download link at least for Realme 5 Pro with bootloader unlocked (meaning, it has to be flashed via a custom recovery like TWRP). We’ll further update the story when we have the download links for non-unlocked Realme 5 Pro and X as well.

Till then Realme 5 Pro users with bootloader unlocked devices can at least install Realme UI.

Realme has now released the Android 9 Pie rollback package for the Realme X. Therefore, if for some reason the Android 10 update is causing trouble on your device, you can switch back to Android Pie. For more details along with the download link, head here.
