New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 07, 2020) follows:

Realme sells its smartphones in India and China, although some sold in the former market never made it to the company’s home country. The models sold in China have a different firmware that is also maintained separately, same to Indian variants.

For whatever reason, although not new at all, some Realme phones sold in India and other markets have a different name in China. For instance, the phone Indians know as Realme 5 Pro is known as Realme Q back at home.

Realme 5 Pro aka Realme Q

Despite having separate firmwares for the Indian and Chinese variant, the software update timelines in both markets aren’t any different. More often than not, the Realme Q picks up new updates a few days ahead of the Realme 5 Pro.

Apparently, this is set to continue with respect to the Realme 5 Pro Realme UI update to Android 10. The new skin has been rolling out to Realme 3 Pro and Realme XT owners in India as well as Realme X, Realme X2 and Realme X2 Pro in China.

However, in the latter market, no device has picked up the stable version. By the look of things, the Realme Q is next in line, with Realme support saying the rollout will begin on February 14 for early adopters.

Prior to this, Realme had made it official that the Realme Q will be updated to Realme UI beta in February 2020 before the stable version arrives in March. If anything, this latest development only gives us the date to expect the software.

Android 10 roadmap for Realme China

As noted earlier, the fact that the Realme Q is about to get updated to Android 10 also suggests the Realme 5 Pro Realme UI update isn’t too far away. It remains to be seen if the device will receive a beta update in India as well.

Update 1 (February 14, 2020)

Realme has now opened the beta registration for Realme Q users interested to try Realme UI update based on Android 10 ahead of official rollout. Details here.

Update 2 (February 21, 2020)

Realme India says the stable version of Android 10 will arrive in the last week of February but in batches. More details here.

Update 3 (February 28, 2020)

Realme 5 Pro is now receiving the stable update to Android 10 with Realme UI 1.0. The update is rolling out in batches, meaning some units will receive the OTA ahead of others. Realme X users are also receiving a similar update. See the full details here.
