[Updated] Realme 3i day-one update brings July security patch & bug fixes

While OnePlus pushed the August security patch to 7 Pro devices even before Google released it on Pixels, Chinese phone maker Realme like others OEMS (Huawei, Honor, Samsung & Xiaomi to name a few) is speeding up the July OTA distribution process on their phones as it’s August already.

In the past couple of days, Realme released the July OTA for Realme C1, Realme U1 and Realme 3.

And as of today, another Realme device is receiving the last month’s patch.

One of company’s newest releases – in the OEMs biggest fan base market India – is Realme 3i. This entry-level mid range device is fueled with Mediatek Helio P60 processor, and embraces the current year Android 9.0 Pie layered with ColorOS 6 out of the box.

This Realme 3 kin is offered in two variants – 64GB storage with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage with 3 GB RAM. The device sports a dual rear camera setup at the back – with a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor – and a 13MP front camera.

Diamond Black, Diamond Blue and Diamond Red are the shades offered.

The phone is now receiving its very first OTA. The update weighs about 150MB, bears build number RMX1827EX_11_A.19 and brings along the July security patch. Apart from that, it enhances system stability and also fixes some known issues. Which ones? Well, that’s not specified clearly.

As is usually the case with firmware updates, they’re rolled out in batches, so will be the currently circulating July OTA on Realme 3i phones. The patch may take time to make it to all units.
