Google Fi is a telecommunication service meant exclusively for the users in the US providing services like calls, SMS and mobile broadband using cellular networks and WiFi.
Moreover, Google Fi uses network carriers operated by Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular. In fact, you can get a full-fledged plan that fits your data usage.
However, in a recent development, going by the reports by several Google Fi users, they cannot seem to get themselves signed into the Google Fi network.
Several users on different Google Pixel phones have reported being suffering from this same issue. In fact, this issue has surfaced reportedly due to the T-Mobile outage. You can check out some of the user’s reports below:
Same here. Reddit is great for knowing that you’re not alone. Hopefully Fi fixes it for all of those who have no idea what Reddit is and don’t know how to figure it out on their own.

I’m just now noticing it. I’d gather it has something to do with a change in T-Mobile’s network or their link/partnership with Fi. It boggles the mind but you can manually switch over to Sprint and see a connection.

I’m trying to find out if there’s a known outage here in Central NJ. I currently have no data connection but I can make calls.
Down Detector definitely shows a spike in outage reports this morning, but T Force on Twitter says there’s no outage (yes, they did ask me if I tried turning my phone off and on again ?).
Do T Force have less accurate network info than Down Detector? If they don’t know the network is down how will they fix it?(Source)
In fact, when we went ahead and checked for any T-Mobile outage on the Downdetector website, it clearly showed that there was indeed a spike around 7:20 PM in the US.
And users have also reported that even though the outage is almost fixed, there are still reports about it.
if you are also among those Google Fi users who are still facing this issue even after the outage, then there are a few possible workarounds that you can try to get over Google Fi sign-in issue.
Possible Workarounds
- You can simply try restarting your device. This seems to fix the issue for most of the users.
- You need to dial * # * # FIXME # * # * after a reboot. This seems to have fixed the issue for man users.
- Or you can download FiSwitch application and switch over to Sprint.
Let us know in the comments below which one of the above-mentioned workarounds did the trick for you.
