Pokemon Go Water Festival Event is currently live in the game. The event will stay live until August 30, 2019, at 1 pm PDT. Pokemon Go Water Festival features Water-Type Pokemon, and they will spawn more frequently during the event.
During the event, Water-type Pokemon like Blastoise, Vaporean, Lapras will appear in raids. Water-type Pokémon will hatch more often from Eggs until August 30. The event also features a variety of bonuses which have been detailed below.

- Half Buddy distance for Water-type Pokemon
Shiny Carvanha and Shiny Barboach have also been made available for players to catch. Carvanha is a Water-Dark type Pokémon which evolves into Sharpedo whereas Barboach is a Water-Ground Type Pokemon which evolves into Whiscash. Field Research Tasks featuring Water-type Pokemon has also been added to the game.
