Pokemon Go is one of the best-augmented reality games in the market and the game was released in 2016, and since then the game is running strong. Recently, Niantic added the Generation 5 Pokemon to the game. The addition of the Generation 5 Pokemon to the game was done under week three of the Ultra Bonus event.
The success of the Pokemon Go game can be inferred by the amount of earnings it made in August 2019. Pokemon Go made whopping $176 million in August 2019 according to a Sensor Data report. The credit for the success of the game also goes to Niantic for organizing exciting in-game events for players.
But amid these interesting in-game events, players have also faced several bugs during three years, which Niantic kept resolving from time to time. However, one bug is currently affecting players who own Xiaomi devices. Many PoGo players who have devices including Xiaomi Redmi 5, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 are facing bans without any reason.
The players who have faced this, have taken this issue to Reddit and Twitter. Some players are getting a Shadowban, while others are getting a ban for 30 days. Xiaomi PoGo players are perplexed as they don’t know for what reason they are receiving a ban. Have a look at some complaints down below.
A few players think that this issue is due to the Xiaomi stock feature: Boost Speed which optimizes the smartphone and makes the game run faster and smoother. Boost Speed feature might have a bug which is breaking Niantic ‘TOI (Terms and Conditions) and resulting in a ban.
Many players who are complaining about the ban have also said that they have not installed any third-party software on their devices like PokeGenie or other IV tools. A few players have also tagged ‘Niantic’ on Twitter regarding this matter, but have not received any official response.
A Twitter user named ‘AnetUA’ has requested players to comment on his ‘tweet’ if they have received a ban. Based on those comments, he has compiled a list of users who have received a ban from Niantic for no reason. Have a look at the sheet in which he has collected the status of the players by heading here.
If we closely observe the sheet, one can see that the majority of complaints are coming from users who have firmware version 10.3.1.0 or 10. 3.2.0 on their Xiaomi devices. One user named ‘Semeliranda’ recommended others not install these firmware versions on their devices. It is still unclear what is the reason behind this ban, is it App Booster or Xiaomi firmware is conflicting with PoGo TOI’s.
