Every Android OS iteration comes with a bunch of new features and improvements from the outgoing version. With Android 10, for instance, you get things like improved privacy controls, a system-wide dark theme, support for AV1 video codec, and even foldable screens.

The new OS also comes with what Google calls “Vulkan everywhere” that demands support for Vulkan 1.1 as a basic requirement for all 64-bit devices.

For gamers, it gets even better thanks to an updated Almost Native Graphics Layer Engine (ANGLE) that implements OpenGL ES on top of Vulkan 1.1. To cut the long story short, ANGLE is here to make optimizing games for multiple devices much easier for developers.

Sure, mainstream device users might never get to know its there, but its presence will be felt through smoother running games that take advantage of native GPU hardware APIs regardless of whether the games were built to run on more powerful graphics instructions.

With ANGLE aboard Android phones, you should enjoy higher frame rates, faster loading times, and improved battery life when gaming. If lucky, you may close the day with all three enhancements.

Usually, this is true for high-end devices, but ANGLE is here to ensure that all Android 10 devices, regardless of the hardware, get to enjoy an improved quality of mobile gaming.

Apparently, owners of the Poco F1 that recently received the update to Android 10 are already noticing improved gaming performance with games like PUBG. The phone has also been taken through Geekbench, indeed confirming improved Vulkan scores, in fact, more than double.

Typically, benchmark scores shouldn’t mean much, but this one does. Apparently, some Poco F1 owners who have upgraded to Android 10 can confirm that indeed, gaming performance has really improved.

You must first go to the Game Driver Preferences in the developer options and enable the option to let you target specific apps with custom graphics drivers. The drivers, however, must be installed on your Poco F1, further allowing switching between them at will.

A techy. Besides phones, I also enjoy the farm, music, football, and, of course, food.
