New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on January 17, 2020) follows:
It’s yet another new dawn and the Poco F1 Android 10 update saga continues. This time with some alleged assurance from the official Poco support claiming that the stable rollout is, in fact, around the corner.
For a company that has only one smartphone to update, its surprising that POCO by Xiaomi hasn’t rolled out the stable Android 10 update to the Pocophone F1 to date.
The fact that devices that share the same hardware and kernel source as the Poco F1, among them the Mi MIX 2S, Mi MIX 3, and Mi 8, have already received the stable Android 10 update yet the F1 hasn’t is baffling, to say the least.
Earlier this week, Pocophone Global head Alvin Tse revealed that the Poco F1 will receive a cumulative update to not only include the security patches since the stable MIUI 11 update rolled out, but also the stable version of Android 10.
By all means, this was an indicator that the next Poco F1 update may bring Android 10 to the device, but shortly after, another report emerged suggesting that the Poco F1 Android 10 update requires a ‘bit more testing’ before rolling out the stable version.
We don’t know how long this extra testing will last, but it is now emerging that the stable rollout may begin next month, February 2020.
Like some of the previous Poco F1 Android 10 stories, though, you’ll have to take this one with a grain of salt because it’s coming from support. We know how support guys can be misleading and sometimes very clueless about the internal ongoings in a big company like Xiaomi.
Still, it all points to an imminent release of the Poco F1 Android 10 stable update. It’s only a matter of time!
